Am I up? Crypto result calculator
More than “up or down”. The calculator shows whether you have got your money back, how far the market can fall before you are in the red, how much to withdraw so only profit stays in crypto, and what happens to your result in different scenarios.
How the calculator works
- Result = In portfolios now + Withdrawn − Deposited. The percent is the result divided by what you deposited.
- Fiat balance = Withdrawn − Deposited: whether you have got your own money back.
- Safety margin = Result ÷ In portfolios now. How far the market can fall before your overall result hits zero.
- Get your money back = Deposited − Withdrawn. Withdraw this much and only profit stays in crypto.
- Annual return ≈ ((Now + Withdrawn) ÷ Deposited)1/years − 1. An estimate that assumes all money went in at the start.
Result and fiat balance are counted the same way as the overview in Crypto Journal.
Example
You deposited $30,000, withdrew $2,150, and your portfolios are worth $38,420 now.
- Result: 38,420 + 2,150 − 30,000 = +$10,570 (+35.2%).
- Fiat balance: −$27,850: you have taken back only 7% of what you put in.
- Safety margin: 10,570 ÷ 38,420 = 27.5%. If the market falls further, you are in the red.
- Get your money back: withdraw $27,850 (72% of portfolios) and $10,570 stays in crypto — profit only.
Why count in your own currency
If you deposited euros, lira or rubles, a dollar result can mislead. You put in 1,000,000 rubles when a dollar cost 90 rubles — that is $11,111. Your portfolio is worth $12,000 now, and a dollar costs 80 rubles.
- In dollars: 12,000 vs 11,111 — +8%.
- In rubles: 960,000 vs 1,000,000 — −4%.
That’s why you can enter the portfolio value in dollars: the calculator converts it into your currency at today’s rate.
FAQ
How do I calculate my crypto profit?
Result = in portfolios now + withdrawn − deposited. The percent is the result divided by what you deposited.
What is the fiat balance?
Withdrawn minus deposited. It shows whether you have got your money back. A positive balance means everything left in crypto is pure upside.
How much should I withdraw to get my money back?
Deposited minus what you have already withdrawn. Withdraw that and only profit stays in crypto, so a market drop can no longer put your own money in the red.
What is the safety margin?
How far your portfolios can fall before your overall result hits zero. It is the result divided by the current portfolio value.
Does the calculator store my data?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser and the numbers are never sent anywhere. To keep track over time, use the free Crypto Journal.
